The following poem was written for Debbie Grey in gratitude for her services performed after 9/11 by a member of the Port Authority Police Department.

You are the Healer

Lives you’ve touched in different ways.
Sunshine brought on dismal days.
Healing hands to ease the pain.
Skin caressed to soothe the strain.
Full of doubt, uncertainty –
Your true strength, you’ve yet to see.
Misplaced loves and loves to be
are part of lifes’ reality.
Take comfort in this simple ploy
Think not too deeply – just enjoy.
For in your heart you know the truth
Angels guide you since your youth –
Listen – hear – and understand
God holds you special in His hand.
